The Happy Day Christian Kindergarten (HDCK) is an initiative of the church and has been in operation since 1979. We offer many activities to the children in our program, including arts and crafts, singing, outdoor/indoor gym, books, games, toys and puzzles. Our program includes letters, numbers, shapes, colours, days and months, social skills, problem-solving skills, health and science and much more. The program encourages children to learn skills that will be important in their transition to the school system.
Our KidsConnect program runs from September to June after weekly morning services. We have classes for children ages 3 to 15. The 3 to 13 year olds Walk with Me series focuses on Christian living, teaching, and on the church and Gods kingdom. The program for the 14 and 15 year olds is called Heidelberg Catechism and Me. The Heidelberg Catechism is a rich resource for learning how the truths of the Christian faith apply to us.
All children aged 5 to 12 are invited to come out to our Vacation Bible School. This week long program includes bible stories and songs, theme-related crafts and skits, and much more. We offer this fun program, free of charge, for five half days (mornings) in mid - July (check the calendar for specific dates).
Girls in grades 3 through 8 are invited to join our GEMS (Girls Everywhere Meeting the Saviour) Girls' club. The aim of our club is to bring girls into a living, dynamic relationship with Jesus Christ. We meet Tuesday evenings 6.30-8.30 pm during September to April.
We invite all boys aged 10 to 13 years old to join our Cadet club. This is a four year program that meets every Tuesday at the Church from 6:30 pm to 8:30 pm.
Coffee Break is open to all women from the surrounding community and the church. We encourage you to drop in for some snacks and fellowship every Tuesday morning from September to May(check the calendar for specific dates). During this time we study the Bible and encourage one another to grow in our relationship with God. We begin with a social time at 9AM, this is when the goodies come out :) We then separate into small groups for a prayer and Bible study time from 9:30 to 10:30. Child care is provided during each Coffee Break meeting thanks to our capable and dedicated volunteers. This includes a Nursery for babies, and a children's program, Story Hour, for 2 to 5 year olds that offers a Bible story, singing, craft time, and snack. If you have additional questions or would like more information about Coffee Break, please contact the Church Office.
Our Seniors Circle meets during the fall and winter seasons (check calendar for specific dates). We seek Christian fellowship and fun interaction with one another. As a result we plan interesting activities or outings that are appreciated by everyone. If your looking to have a good laugh and enjoy some company, come out and join us. All Seniors and retirees are welcome to join us.
Our email prayer line consists of a group of almost 60 families that is ready to pray for people's needs. It is a quick and easy way to have a large group of people praying for you, without judgment or prejudice. The prayer line coordinator forwards people's prayer requests, updates or thanksgiving items in an email to the prayer line group at once. If you would like for us to pray for a concern you have, contact Judith MacDonald at (902) 675-3556 or through email.
As a community of believers seeking to connect with God and others, we join regularly for worship. God has given us Sunday as a time to rest, rejuvenate and to reconnect. We have long followed the tradition of opening and closing the day in worship with a service at 10:00 a.m. and another at 7:00 p.m. During the morning service, nursery is provided, and after the service we enjoy time together for coffee and fellowship.
